This was such a fun card to create. I sorta CASed the idea from Diana Gibbs. I used a different stamp set but thought the idea of stamping first then adding the frame was such a cute idea:

The stamped images incorporate what is called the "Masking Technique". I started out by stamping the bird with Soft Suede Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I stamped the bird again on scrap paper and hand-cut. The reason I did this was to create a "mask". When cutting the bird, cut a little on the inside of the outlined image. Add a little Dotto on the back and stick over the first bird you stamped. NOTE: You can also do this by using a Post-It Note instead of paper & Dotto. The sticky side of the Post-It Note will serve as your adhesive! Once you have the bird's layered on top of each other, ink up the birdcage stamp and stamp over the bird. Remove the "mask" and voila! Now all you have to do is slide your cardstock piece into the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Folder and run through your BigShot Machine.

Card Supplies:
  • Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Island Indigo
  • Inks: Soft Suede, Island Indigo
  • Stamps: Nature Walk, Friendly Phrases
  • Tools: BigShot Machine, Designer Frames Textured Impressions Folder, Lace Ribbon Border Punch
