They have named their club the Bonnie Hunter club ---not because they use only my designs to make quilts, but more the method of making those scraps and leftovers pull together into lovely usable quilts.
No scrap is ever turned away! The group uses the tips and techniques from the Scrap User's System so the pieces are easy to pull together into any pattern when they gather to sew.
Having scraps in usable sizes of strips, squares, and bricks makes any scrap quilt a breeze.
While doing their own sewing, they use Leaders & Enders to make more giving quilts between the lines of sewing other things.
These ladies donate 100s of quilts a year to folks they don’t even know.
I am so honored and humbled that they have used my name for their club. I wish I could do more. If any of my designs inspires them to sew ---then maybe I had just a little part in covering those who need our thoughts and prayers and well wishes on their journey to recovery.
These photos are snipped from the video I will link to below. I tried to embed the video, but it wouldn’t do it ---
Sewing away at Mary’s Quilt Shop!
I know most of these ladies as I have been up there the past couple of years – they are dynamos!
If a handful of ladies can turn out 200 comfort quilts in a year – how many more could we give if we each made ONE?
I am teary eyed after watching this little video that Mary sent of the group on the news. It touched my heart this morning, I hope it touches yours too. Please CLICK HERE to view the video! Your heart will be touched!
I know there are so many bad things on the news these days, but believe me.....there is so much good!
Much love to you all from Grants Pass Oregon ---
